The Atelier 210 (rue Saint Pierre 210 – website) is on my way home and I’ve been walking past it for months while it’s been closed. Finally they re-opened for the new season and I couldn’t wait to see the place from the inside. Naturally, the fact that they were hosting a free concert was a good incentive.
The place is a small neighbourhood theatre on the first floor of an otherwise unremarkable building. They have a nice bar and the room is quite big: long, slightly sloping, a bit dusty with old and used-looking furniture. They host concerts, theatre pieces and much more.
The group – PAON – was very good: four Belgian artists playing pop-rock music of Californian inspiration. Beautiful atmosphere and nice energy, I personally was captured by the beauty of the singer’s voice…well, the guy himself too.
The only negative point was the length of the concert: it was too short (50min)! But well, they are a new and emerging group so let’s give them some time to grow and add more tracks to their playlist.
A very nice experience that I hope to repeat very soon.
